New Mexico's Turquoise Trail

New Mexico continues to prove itself as a true gem for adventure with a myriad of opportunities to explore whether by auto, adventure motorcycle, or on foot. Additionally, the state is rich in cultural and culinary diversity, with Santa Fe and other towns enhancing its charm.

Stretching along Highway 14 is the Scenic Byway known as the Turquoise Trail. This beautiful, paved drive links Santa Fe and Albuquerque with twisty roads and views that provide a stunning setting far more enjoyable than driving north or south on Interstate 25. The Turquoise Trail gets its name from the turquoise mining towns, including Madrid, Golden and Cerrillos, along its 50-mile stretch. Each town features an array of locally crafted art, food, and handmade turquoise jewelry from artisans and residents who help make this stretch of road worth a visit.

If you have the time and are looking for a side excursion in the heart of New Mexico, I highly recommend a day traveling along New Mexico’s Turquoise Trail.
