Vehicles, whether two-wheeled or four-wheeled, not only provide a platform from Point A to Point B but are equally a form of art that tugs at the soul of any enthusiast who yearns for the sound and the freedom that comes from the driver seat.

Focal Motive is about a passion for travel with extensive reviews highlighting the automotive world and the images that capture the vehicular art form. Ever since I was a child I have been an avid explorer, adventurer, and enthusiast of all things four wheels and two. Over the years I’ve had the fortune of traveling throughout the world, including destinations across North and Central America, as well as through Eastern and Western Europe. When I’m not cycling across Texas on my bicycle, climbing in the Swiss Alps, or playing tennis, I’m out touring a variety of destinations throughout the United States and abroad.

I am the Proprietor of OutdoorX4 LLC and its subsidiary publications. In 2005, I co-founded, published, and served as Editor-in-Chief of JPFreek Adventure Magazine, the world's first fully digital Jeep vehicle adventure lifestyle magazine. I was involved with that title through mid-2012, turning it from a fledgling magazine with a handful of readers to a respected and innovative digital medium with nearly 30,000 subscribers in over 50 countries. During that time, I also served as Publisher of several industry journals and was a freelance journalist for a variety of outlets.

Additionally, I am a member of the Texas Auto Writers Association, the Texas Motor Press Association, and the Texas Outdoor Writers Association. A number of my articles on off-highway travel, adventure destinations, and product/vehicle reviews have been featured in numerous publications.

My family of five, including three daughters, proudly reside in Texas.
